Why Cabletelevision Advertising Has Advantages Over Broadcast

Co-host Brad Forsythe interviews Kevin Barry, vice president of the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB).  Kevin joined the CAB in 1996 as Vice President, Local Sales & Marketing. He is responsible for overseeing the efforts of the CAB in assisting its cable system members in maximizing advertising revenues. From 1989 to 1996, Kevin was Director of Local Ad Sales at Discovery Communications, Inc. While at Discovery, he was recognized by the Myers Report as one of the top three Network Executives at representing his company and also was the recipient of the CAB’s President’s Award. Kevin got his start in cable as an Account Executive for Cablevision on Long Island in 1985. He got his start in advertising as an Account Rep for Long Island Newsday in 1983. Kevin sits on the Board of Directors of the Retail Advertising & Marketing Association, and the Cable Advertising Association of New York. He also serves on the Media Advisory Committee of The Advertising Council.
