His methods, which are well-known for challenging conventional thinking, have been published worldwide. He is a Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, affiliated with the Center for Public Leadership, and formerly served as editor of the Harvard Management Communication Letter.
He has also taught at the University of Virginia and Princeton University, and was a speech writer for Virginia Governor Charles S. Robb. He is the author of the acclaimed book Working the Room: How to Move People to Action through Audience-Centered Speaking (Harvard), reprinted in paperback as Give Your Speech, Change the World: How to Move Your Audience to Action.
